Let me ask you something that may seem simple but isn’t…
How happy are you with your business right now?
Are you pleased with how things are going? The way you run it? How much you work? How much money you make?
What would make you REALLY happy with your business?
Yesterday I had a full day of brainstorming and planning with my friend/colleague/coach. It was amazing.
Throughout the day, I could sense she felt frustrated. From my viewpoint, her business is going AWESOME so I couldn’t understand what was bugging her.
So I asked her…”What’s going on overall? Are you happy with how your business is doing?”
After a long pause, she replied…
“I just wish it was easier…”
Ever have that feeling? We just want to be happier, we want things to be easier, and yet when I asked my coach what the “perfect” business looked like — what would make it”easier”, she was stumped.
What does “easier” really look like? What would need to happen in your business to feel “happier” about it?
In this episode, we dive in and try to get answers to these 2 huge questions.
Listen here.
- Why I think we were both stumped on what would make us happy with our businesses.
- What happened to me when I started making money with my coaching program.
- When you’re making plenty of money but you’re still not happy with your business.
- How designing your business around your life is the key to everything.

- Free class: The Surprising Truth About Growing Your Online Store
- For startups, the New Designer Program
Here’s your assignment. What is it about that your business that you’re really happy with? What is it that you’re not? What would make you happy with your business? Write it down and leave me a comment. I LOVE ❤️ hearing from you!

Great episode! I loved this podcast. What I love about my business is connecting with other people (my audience is mostly Latino) and sharing a little bit about my roots. I am Mexican living in the Netherlands, and I sell handmade Mexican clothes in my online shop.
Like many, I started from scratch, and with very little money. At first, I did all the marketing and promotion by myself (mostly on Facebook groups). I earned each and every one of my customers and turned them into fans. My engagement on social media is growing and I have recurrent and loyal customers, so I’m happy about that.
I wasn’t really happy about having to do all the social media marketing by myself, but I found a solution for that. I am now paying someone to help me with that so I can focus on bringing new products. And my boyfriend helps me taking product pictures, and with the taxes. Outsourcing is my middle name. Love it.
What would make me happier?
– Definitely more sales (so I can quit my day job for good).
-I would like to have my products sold at boutiques/brick and mortar stores.
– Designing my first line of t-shirts.
– Need a label printer and make the packaging process easier.
The list goes on, but those are some of the things I can think of.
I’ve just told my boyfriend “Jane always delivers.” And he said, “Who? Jane Hamill? Oh yeah, she’s cool. I like her.”
He knows your name cuz I often listen to your podcasts lol. I love every video/podcast/FB live you put out there. It contains tons of useful information which I’ve been implementing little by little. If the free info is already gold, I can’t imagine what the paid courses would do for one’s business!
P.S. I’d buy any of your courses in a heartbeat. I just have to wait till I’m done with a few other courses I’m taking at the moment. Like you said in a previous podcast, I’m part of the % of customers who aren’t ready to buy (yet), just wait for me girl!
Greetings from the Netherlands,
Jessica
